NOTE
- At the beginning of the French Revolution, a debate developed with the aim of redefining sovereignty and citizenship. In this context, women are considered passive citizens because, according to many opinions, their vote would be double that of their husband. But French women are calling for access to the assemblies both because of a question of justice and because of the need for there to be correspondence between those who are representatives and those who are represented, as well as for the contribution they can make to the State.
